Rev. Dr. John F. McCormick
Senior Pastor 

 

Rev. John F. McCormick, a native of Lubbock, Texas, is the Senior Pastor of Grant CrossWork Community Church (GCCC). Before successfully blending Grant Worship Center and CrossWork Christian Center into Grant CrossWork in February 2026, he pastored both churches though the transition into one.

Pastor McCormick was the founding pastor of CrossWork Christian Center of Round Rock, Texas, where he was appointed in November 2009.

​

Prior to accepting God’s call to plant a new church, he served as the pastor of Wesley Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Georgetown, Texas, for five years.

​

Rev. McCormick answered the call to the ministry in 2002 and was ordained by the Southwest Texas Annual Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in October 2004.

Prior to his ordination, Rev. McCormick served as an associate minister at Grant A.M.E. Worship Center in Austin, Texas, where he taught a men’s class and was a ministerial consultant to the men’s ministry.

​

Pastor John is a strong encourager and believes in empowerment. Within the ministry and out in the world, he has inspired countless individuals to reach their potential and seek education beyond high school and college, including graduate degrees.

​

He believes strongly in family and spends his free time on family activities with his wife Erica and daughter Erin.

​

Pastor McCormick is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Law. He also graduated from the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Ministerial Practice.
