The Reverend Sylvester Delaney Patton, III is the pastor of Grant African Methodist Episcopal Worship Center located in Austin, TX.  Rev. Patton was born and raised in the city of Youngstown, Ohio under the direction of Sylvester D. Patton Jr. and Juanell C. Patton.

In preparation for the pastoral ministry Rev. Patton had the opportunity to serve as the Executive Minister at Saint Philip African Methodist Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA under the leadership of Rev. William D. Watley, Ph.D.  During his time at Saint Philip Rev. Patton oversaw the ministerial and administrative activities of the church, was the Youth and Young Adult Pastor and served as Chairman of the Board for the Child Development Center. 

 

Rev. Patton has also pastored four churches (New Jerusalem, Johnson Chapel, St. Luke and Smith Chapel) in the 10th Episcopal District (Texas) and Saint Andrews located in the 3rd Episcopal District (Ohio) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Rev. Patton has received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from The University of Toledo, a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Payne Theological Seminary.  Rev. Patton is married to the former DeAnna K. Brown of Hattiesburg, MS they have two children, Delaney and Stephen.
